And now…an award winner! HOOD won the 2023 New York State Reading Association Charlotte Award for young adult!!!

I don’t write the kinds of books that usually get noticed by awards committees, which is why this came as such an incredible and exciting surprise. This award means even more to me because it was voted on by students (you know, the kids I actually write the books for), which is so amazing.

Publishing a debut two months into a worldwide pandemic was a real kick in the teeth, but this little lady has had some legs, and I’m so pleased readers are still finding Isabelle and the Merry Men three years on.
